'Waste Of Time': Kunal Kamra Reacts After Mumbai Cops Visit His Dadar Home Amid Shinde Joke Row

Hours after a team of Mumbai Police on Monday arrived at the residence of Kunal Kamra in connection with a case related to his remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the Comedian reacted by saying that “it’s waste of time and public resources."
The Khar Police sent multiple summons to Kamra after registering a First Information Report (FIR) on March 24 based on Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel’s complaint. However, the comedian failed to appear before the officials.

“Going to an address where I haven’t lived for the last 10 Years is a waste of your time & public resources…" Kamra said in an X post.
Sources told CNN-News18 that the cops had gone to verify if Kamra, who lives in Tamil Nadu, was home, as he had been issued multiple summons. Upon finding no one at his Dadra residence, the team left the scene, they added.
Three separate cases have been filed against the stand-up comedian at Khar police station, with one complaint lodged by the Mayor of Jalgaon city and the other two by a hotelier and a businessman from Nashik, according to the Mumbai Police.
Kamra stoked a row after giving a spin-off to a popular Hindi song in which he took a veiled dig at Shinde, calling him a “gaddar" (traitor). He allegedly referred to the 2022 Maharashtra political crisis in which Shinde led the collapse of Uddhav Thackeray’s state government.
Recorded in February, the programme called ‘Naya Bharat’ was uploaded on Kamra’s YouTube channel on March 23, drawing strong reactions from the Shiv Sainiks.
Shiv Sena leaders condemned his remarks, demanding an unconditional apology from him.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court on Friday granted interim anticipatory bail to Kamra in connection with multiple FIRs filed against him. Justice Sunder Mohan approved the bail with conditions, effective until April 7.
Kamra had moved the Madras High Court seeking transit anticipatory bail, citing numerous threats he had received following his recent satirical comments.
